Bully went to Dublin!

Another great evening was enjoyed on Friday March 17th when we had a Bull's Eye / St Patrick's Day Crossover event. Four Teams were pitted against each other in a battle of will and wit and victory was with the Wives Team (Go Wives!!!)
Great food, great entertainment and another brilliant event from our Mess Committee.
A huge Thank You to the organisers and the bar staff.
Check out below for some snaps of the night.

Cost Cutter – Entitled Persons

All UK service personnel and dependents are Entitled Persons

Sodexho who run the Cost Cutter shop on BRS have been forced to comply with the customs and tax regulations that are in force in all other UK sites in Cyprus. To that end they will introduce a VAT charge on all purchases made by non-entitled persons who use the shop as follows:

Alcoholic Beers, wines & spirits @ 19%
Fragrances & Perfumes @ 19%
Beauty products @ 19%
All other goods will be charged @ 5%

This change will come into effect on Mon 20 Mar 17.

This will NOT affect the UK community; however if you are not known to the staff you will more than likely be requested to produce ID as follows:

Serving Military personnel: MOD Form 90
Dependents: BRS pass designated BRS Resident
(visitors of UK residents will not be entitled and will be required to pay the VAT).

Normandy Bridge, Dhekelia Closure.

Please be advised that the Normandy Bridge on Dhekelia Garrison is closed for essential works. This may effect travel times to the Medical and Dental Centres.

Road Works near Akrotiri

If you are travelling to Akrotiri in the next few months please remember :

Major Road Disruptions from Kolossi to RAF Akrotiri

Personnel, their families, civilian staff and contractors should take account of this when planning any journeys to and from RAF Akrotiri and add an extra 20 minutes to their journey times to cope with any possible delays.

Road works to install cables from the EAC substation at Kolossi up to the RAF Akrotiri main entry point will be carried out between the 15 March and the end of September 2017. These will include excavations and other relevant works and will take place in phases along the main Kolossi-Akrotiri road. Two sets of traffic lights will be in operation at each part of the road where works will be taking place, while there will be a 30 km maximum speed restriction.
